BURT: Fascinating! Let me introduce you to our conjunctions.
BURT:Y means 'and', también is 'also', pero means 'but' and sin embargo is 'however'.
Now use these conjuctions to form an extended sentence!
LADY: Oh, I don’t like wholemeal.
Ooh, I should have brought my glasses.
Me encanta dibujar y me gusta leer - I love to draw and I like reading.
Me gustan los gatos pero no me gustan los perros - I like cats but I don’t like dogs.
Hehe! I do like cats, I’ve got 12!
BURT: Fantastic! Next sentence!
LADY:Tengo un hermano y también una hermana - I have a brother and also a sister.
BURT: Just one more to go - no pressure!
LADY: Oh, oh dear!
Me gusta cantar, sin embargo no soy muy bueno - I like to sing, however I am not very good.

How to use conjunctions in Spanish
Like in English, conjunctions can be used to help avoid repetition.
For example, look at the two sentences below:

You could join these two sentences together by adding the conjunction Check your connection, refresh the page and try again. (and) and removing the repetition of Check your connection, refresh the page and try again. (I like):
- Check your connection, refresh the page and try again. - I like chips and salad

Conjunctions can also help you to join together two simple sentences or ideas to form an extended sentence.
