The Approximate History of Pythagoras

Description

Praxis the robot and Alan the “human man” find out about some of the contributions Pythagoras made to maths. They discover his famous theorem wasn’t all his idea.

Classroom Ideas

Use as a fun introduction to Pythagros’ theorem. Expand on the geometrical proof shown to explain why the theorem is true for all right-angled triangles. Students could draw right angle triangles outside on the playground, and do the measurements and calculations to find the lengths of the hypotenuses before testing them.
