Lack of privacy

Social media can have some very damaging outcomes relating to privacy.

Everything that is written on social media has the potential of never disappearing. Even if something is deleted, someone may have already downloaded it, recorded it or taken a screen grab of it.

Likewise, when something is posted on social media, you don’t know where it will go next. Some things go .

There have been predictions that the global webcam market will be worth $15.2 billion (approximately £12.2 billion) by 2021, which demonstrates how popular webcams are in making remote chat possible with friends and family.

However, like social media, webcam chat may also not be private. Hackers are able to gain access to a person’s webcam without their knowledge using a RAT (Remote Access Trojan). It is very important to have the most up-to-date anti-virus software in order to minimise the chances of this happening.
