Above the line promotion (also known as advertising) is a paid communication that informs potential customers of a product or service.
Adverts can be different in terms of:
- geographical reachThe amount of a country or continent a product or advert can cover
- effectiveness
- cost
- medium
Above the line promotion is usually divided into two types:
- broadcast media (tv, radio and cinema) and print media (newspapers and magazines)
- apps, SMS and social media advertising
