Question
What would you say for this roleplay?
- Do you have a computer at home? Say that your mother bought a new computer.
- What are the special features? Say that it has a wireless keyboard and mouse and also a huge screen and a free printer and USB memory stick.
- When do you use your computer? Say that every day after school you switch on and use your laptop to do your homework.
- Describe what you do on your laptop. Say that you log in, log on to your email account, check your email messages and send replies. Say that you particularly like to watch shows online in bed.
- Do your parents or grandparents use social media? Say that you helped your grandmother sign up for a social media account. You took a profile photo with her camera and you uploaded it to her profile page. You then accepted her as a friend and followed some people for her.

- Ma mère a acheté un nouvel ordinateur.

- Il a un clavier et une souris sans fil et aussi un énorme écran et une imprimante gratuite et une clé USB.
- Quand est-ce que tu utilises ton ordinateur?
- Tous les jours après l’école j’allume l’ordinateur et je l’utilise principalement pour faire mes devoirs. Je vais sur beaucoup de sites internet pour m'aider dans mes recherches sur des matières comme l'histoire et la géographie – mon site préféré est une encyclopédie en ligne. J'utilise souvent un dictionnaire en ligne pour mes devoirs de français et d'espagnol et, lorsque je fais mes révisions, je trouve que le site de Bitesize est très utile. J'ai aussi un ordinateur portable qui reste dans ma chambre.
- Décris ce que tu fais sur ton ordinateur portable.
- Je m’identifie, je vais sur ma messagerie, je vérifie mes messages, j’envoie des réponses. J’aime surtout regarder des émissions en ligne au lit. Je m'endors souvent devant mon écran et j’oublie de me déconnecter.
- Vos parents ou vos grands-parents, est-ce qu’ils utilisent les réseaux sociaux?
- J’ai aidé ma grand-mère à s’inscrire sur un compte sur un réseau social. J’ai pris une photo de profil avec son appareil photo et je l’ai téléchargée sur sa page de profil. Ensuite je l’ai acceptée comme amie et j’ai aussi suivi quelques personnes pour elle. Ma mère est toujours sur les réseaux sociaux et elle fait des commentaires sur mes messages. C’est un peu gênant!

- Every day after school I turn on the computer and use it mainly to do my homework. I search a lot of websites to help me with my research on subjects like history and geography - my favorite site is an online encyclopedia. I often use an online dictionary for my French and Spanish homework and, when doing my revision, I find the Bitesize site to be very useful. I also have a laptop that stays in my room.

- I log in, go to my inbox, check my messages and send replies. I particularly like to watch shows online in bed. I often fall asleep in front of my screen and forget to log out.

- I helped my grandmother sign up for a social media account. I took a profile picture with her camera and uploaded it to her profile page. Then I accepted her as a friend and also followed a few people for her. My mum is always on social media and she comments on my posts. It's a little embarrassing!
