Try writing an article for a Spanish magazine about a festival.
Question
Tu profesor te ha pedido escribir un artículo para una revista para adolescentes españoles sobre los festivales. Escribe un artículo para la revista. (Your teacher has asked you to write an article for a magazine for Spanish teenagers about festivals. Write an article for the magazine.)
Debes incluir los puntos siguientes (You must include the following points):
- las diferencias que hay entre los festivales en España y en Inglaterra (the differences that there are between festivals in Spain and England)
- lo que hiciste durante un festival reciente (what you did during a recent festival)
- por qué son importantes los festivales (why festivals are important)
- los planes que tienes para un festival el año que viene (the plans you have for a festival next year)
Escribe aproximadamente 80-90 palabras en español (Write approximately 80-90 words in Spanish).
There are four points to cover so it's important to cover them all equally. Remember to use a past tense to talk about what you did during the festival and a future tense to talk about your plans for a festival next year.
Sample answer:
En mi opinión, los festivales en España son más tradicionales que los festivales ingleses y hay más fiestas en España que en Inglaterra. El mes pasado fui a una fiesta muy grande con mis amigos. Vimos el desfile por la calle y bailamos mucho. Creo que los festivales son importantes para la cultura y la historia de una región. Además, las costumbres son interesantes. El año que viene voy a ir a un festival de música con mi mejor amigo. Vamos a escuchar música en vivo y será fantástico.
Translation:
In my opinion, festivals in Spain are more traditional than English festivals and there are more festivals in Spain than in England. Last month I went to a very big festival with my friends. We saw the parade in the street and we danced a lot. I think festivals are important for the culture and history of a region. What's more, customs are interesting. Next year, I am going to go to a music festival with my best friend. We are going to listen to live music and it will be fantastic.
