Measurement and analysis of current and voltage in simple circuits allows us to formulate rules and predict unknown values.

Current in series circuits

The in a series circuit is the same at all places in the circuit.

A circuit with an open switch, followed by an ammeter which reads 0.1 A with the switch closed and then a cell all on the top horizontal. On the bottom horizontal are two lamps. Label 1 is on the left hand vertical, label 2 between the two lamps and label 3 on the right hand vertical.

Question

From the diagram above, what is the reading at:

1) Position 1: more than \(0.1 A\), \(0.1 A\) or less than \(0.1 A\)?

2) Position 2: more than \(0.1 A\), \(0.1 A\) or less than \(0.1 A\)?

3) Position 3: more than \(0.1 A\), \(0.1 A\) or less than \(0.1 A\)?
