Influenced by the witches’ prophecies, his wife and his own ambition, Macbeth kills King Duncan and seizes the Scottish throne. Inwardly destroyed by guilt, Macbeth dies at the hands of his enemies.
The three witches meet in the storm and talk about a great battle. They speak about a famous and brave soldier called Macbeth who is fighting for the King of Scotland against his enemies.
Their prophecy that Macbeth will one day be King is important to the plot of the play.
