America's favourite family, The Simpsons, have officially joined Fortnite in Chapter 6: Mini Season 2. Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa, along with Springfield favourites like Moe Szyslak and Ned Flanders are all available as playable characters in the Battle Royale game, which now features iconic map locations including The Kwik-E-Mart, 742 Evergreen Terrace and Burns Manor.
This pop-culture crossover is one of epic proportions, but its not the first time popular brands, characters and even musicians have crossed over into each others' realms. Fortnite is full of famous crossovers, from Star Wars to Power Rangers and even singers like Sabrina Carpenter and the Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey. But lets take a look at five quirky pop culture crossovers that have featured outside of the Fortnite world.

EastEnders and Coronation Street = East Street
EastEnders and Coronation Street are two popular long running soaps, but EastEnders airs on BBC, and Coronation Street on ITV, so they could never meet, could they?
Well, we found out what would happen when the fictional residents of Weatherfield and Albert Square finally met each other thanks to a 2010 BBC Children in Need mini-episode called East Street. The episode featured the fictional borough of Walford in London testing out an official twinning with Coronation Street’s Weatherfield, and in typical soap opera style, drama was never far away!
The Queen Vic welcomed Corrie's Liz McDonald, and EastEnders characters including Christian Clarke, and Jane Beale tread the famous cobbles of Coronation Street in this soap opera shared-universe. The episode ended with the (fake) cliffhanger that Liz may have been the mother who gave Kat up at birth – a typical soap opera storyline that firmly united both shows.
2010 wasn't the only time that EastEnders crossed over with other legendary TV shows, you can find out more about what happened when the residents of Albert Square crossed over with Dr Who here. There was also the time in 2009 when then Mayor of London, and future Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, popped into the Queen Vic for a drink.

The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones
Way before The Simpsons ruled the animated family sitcom roost, there were two other cartoon family's who could lay claim to being the best on the box, The Flintstones and The Jetsons. But with one living in the futuristic metropolis 'Orbit City' and the other living in the Stone Age town of Bedrock it seems unlikely that they would ever cross paths, right? Well that was until boy genius Elroy Jetson invents a time machine for a school project and accidentally sends himself, George, Jane, Judy into the past for a vacation where they meet the Flintstones and the Rubbles who are on a camping trip.
The two families bond, and whilst Elroy fixes the malfunctioning time machine, George helps Fred and Barney impress their boss using his futuristic knowledge of how things work. The Jetsons eventually return to the future, but Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty accidentally time travel with them. The Flintstones have a bit of a culture shock whilst in the future, but ultimately get transported back to the past. With both families back in the correct time period, they each have a new found appreciation of the saying "there is no time like the present"!
Hannah-Barbera Productions, the animation studio who created The Flintstones and The Jetsons loved a good crossover. Perhaps their biggest crossover was the Laff-A-Lympics, a cartoon show featuring three teams, 'The Scooby Doobies', 'The Yogi Yahooeys' and 'The Really Rottens'. With appearances from more than thirty classic characters including Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Dick Dastardly and Muttley, this show saw the teams compete in zany events including obstacle courses and synchronised swimming to win the Laff-A-Lympics Trophy.
The Jetsons also had a WWE episode featuring The Big Show called The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania! But more about Hannah-Barbera and WWE tie-ins later!

McFly and Busted = McBusted
McFly and Busted have just wrapped up touring together in the aptly named Busted vs Mcfly Tour, but this is not the first time the two pop rock groups have teamed up. Back in 2013, McFly were celebrating their 10th anniversary at The Royal Albert Hall when they were joined on stage by James Bourne and Matt Willis from Busted, in what was the first iteration of the supergroup McBusted. The newly formed pop-rock behemoth performed hits from both groups' catalogues including 'Year 3000' and 'Shine a Light' to the surprise of fans in attendance.
But it was the following year, 2014, when things really took off for Tom Fletcher and co as McBusted released their debut (and so far only) studio album 'McBusted' and set off on a 36 date tour of the UK and Republic of Ireland. The group went their separate ways after the tour, with Busted eventually reforming with original member Charlie Simpson, but the two groups have remained close and joined forces once more in 2025.
McFly and Busted love a good pop-culture crossover, the band name McFly is actually taken from 1985's Back to The Future protagonist Marty McFly. McFly also appeared as themselves in the 2006 Lindsey Lohan and Chris Pine romantic comedy 'Just My Luck'. While Busted sang the song for 2004's live action Thunderbirds movie, and their song 'Nineties' features pop culture references to The Goonies and Home Alone actor Macauley Culkin.
Some other musical crossovers and supergroups include Boyzlife (Brian from Westlife and Keith from Boyzone), NKOTBSB (New Kids on The Block and Backstreet Boys), and Band Aid.

WWE and Scooby Doo
WWE legend, and actor, John Cena will wrestle his last match at Saturday Night Main Event on 13 December 2025. But he featured in one of the most bizarre crossovers on our list in the 2014 direct to DVD animated film Scooby-Doo! Wrestlemania Mystery. But just how does a mystery-solving dog crossover with the body slamming World Wrestling Entertainment Superstars? Well let us explain.
It all starts when Shaggy and Scooby win an all expenses paid trip to take the Mystery Inc. gang to Wrestlemania in 'WWE City' after beating the hardest level on a WWE computer game. Whilst at WWE City Scooby and Shaggy get attacked by a 'ghost bear' who has been terrorising the city for several weeks. The following day, Scooby gets hypnotised and steals the WWE Championship belt, but when he gets caught he has to wrestle WWE star Kane at Wrestlemania. The gang are aided in their investigation by John Cena, who fights the 'ghost bear' who, spoiler alert, is later revealed to be WWE trainer, an injured ex-pro wrestler called Cookie. Thanks to Scooby, Wrestlemania is saved, and the WWE belt is presented to Scoob and Shaggy. WWE and Scooby Doo crossed over again in 2016's Curse of the Speed Demon.
Scooby Doo could be considered king of crossovers, as other famous fusions with the detective dog include Batman & Robin, Sonny and Cher and even Dick Van Dyke. Scooby even featured in the latest Halloween 'Fortnitemares' event in Fortnite – talk about a crossover-article-ception!
WWE stars including John Cena, Cody Rhodes and The Undertaker have also featured in Fortnite, and its superstars aren't shy when it comes to crossovers. 'Hardcore Legend' Mick Foley appeared as Mankind in a 1999 episode of teen sitcom Boy Meets World, and 80s wrestling icon Captain Lou Albano appeared as the dad in Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' music video. Lauper, who appeared at Wrestlemania I in 1985, was a key part of the 'Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection' a successful crossover that helped boost the popularity of the then WWF. Lou Albano would go on to play Super Mario in the live-action sequences of 80s cartoon The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Speaking of which…

Bowser and Wreck-It Ralph
While Super Mario doesn't appear in the 2012 Disney film Wreck-It Ralph, his arch nemesis Bowser does. In a scene filled to the brim with crossover-cameos we see Ralph attend a therapy session for video game villains with attendees including: Dr Robotnik, aka Dr Eggman, from Sonic The Hedgehog, M. Bison from Street Fighter and the cowardly orange ghost Clyde from Pacman.
But it's in the 2018 sequel, Ralph Breaks The Internet, that the crossovers really hit hyperdrive, with appearances from Guardians of The Galaxy's Groot, C-3PO and First Order Stormtroopers from Star Wars, and a wide array of Disney Princesses including Jasmine, Moana, Cinderella, Anna and Elsa.
Speaking of Disney crossovers, here's one you might have missed. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Disney, filmmakers inserted more than 100 references to past Disney films in the 2023 animated film Wish. These Easter eggs include metaphorical crossovers, such as wishing upon a star (Pinocchio), visual crossovers, like Asha having seven friends with distinct personalities (Snow White), and references in the lyrics, for example when Asha sings about wishing to have 'hair touch down to your feet' (Tangled).
And just like that, we're at the end of our list. But here are a few notable mentions that could have quite easily have made the crossover onto our list:
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988)
- Kingdom Hearts (2002)
- Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite (2017)
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018)
- Ready Player One (2018)
- Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)
