Continue following the road, passing the Post Office on your right, and when you reach the Town Hall, turn right into Denmark Street. Follow the road away from the town centre, and when you reach the mini-roundabout with The Duke's Head pub ahead of you, go straight over towards Sandhurst and Camberley. Just before you reach the Tesco roundabout, take the footpath on your left. | | Much of this walk is through forest. |
Follow the footpath and as you see the stables on your left, continue on the footpath, which bears right in between two paddocks. Follow the path out of the stable yard and onto a tarmac path. When you reach the entrance to Lucas Hospital on your left, continue to follow the tarmac road, turning sharp right. Look for West Lodge on your left and the private entrance to Ludgrove School. Cross over the road here, past a metal gate, taking the byway southwards. Once on the path, if you look to your right, you can see the railway line to Camberley. Continue on the path as it takes you through an established conifer plantation and then back into a wood. | | More woodland! |
When you meet the road, look straight across the road and you will see that the path continues. Cross over and continue to follow the public byway sign. Once on the path, look out for Kimverdale cattery on your left. As you pass Heathland Riding Centre on your right, continue following the track straight ahead. The track comes out onto Nine Mile Ride, look ahead of you, across the road, and you'll see the footpath you need to follow. As you reach the Old Wokingham Road, you'l see the Beijing Chinese Restaurant, turn right. Pass the back of the Transport Research Laboratory on your left. | | Many different paths criss-cross the forest. |

If you look to your left, you will see a sign that says Devil's Highway hidden in the undergrowth. Pass the electricity sub-station on the left. Pass a public car park on the left. Broadmoor High Security Hospital can be seen through the trees on your right. | | The Look Out is a great place to walk, cycle or just enjoy the countryside. |
Follow the path with the powerlines on your right. Where several tracks cross, follow the sign that says Public right of way, road used as public path, and the powerlines should now be on your left. Look ahead of you and you'll see the underpass. You've now joined the Three Castles Trail. Follow the path under the underpass and look for the sign for Swinley Forest on your right. The powerlines are now on your right. Continue through the green metal gates and up the hill, with the powerlines on your right. Follow the signs straight ahead to The Look Out. When the powerlines swing round to the right and several tracks meet, take the second left track, signposted to The Look Out. Where two tracks cross, continue to follow the signs to The Look Out until you reach the main car park, the finish point for this walk. You've completed Part Twelve of the Berkshire Way Well Done!
