 | | Meet Berkshire's Blast reporter... Yaser Khan from Slough was chosen to be the BBC Berkshire Blast reporter. But what's it all about? Let Yaser tell you more... |
 | My name is Yaser Khan, I am currently studying Business studies and AS level English at Herschel Grammer school, in Slough.
I got into the Blast reporter scheme - a new scheme by the BBC to encourage creativity - through my teacher, who told me about the scheme and told me to apply, because it would be a great opportunity to pick up some vital work experience.
The reason why I decided to join BBC Berkshire was to improve my writing skills, as well as pick up some experience on what it's like to be a journalist.
Over the next few weeks I hope to produce stories that I will put on to the BBC Berkshire website.
I will be travelling around Slough to gather information and pictures on events happening, like the Slough Mela and the Slough Youth Festival.
I will be going to gigs, festivals, summer schools and many other places. Read my weekly diary here.
If you are running an event in Slough, and want me to come and do a report on it, then you can contact me at [email protected]
