BBC NOW is delighted to perform in the Three Choirs Festival 2019 with soloists April Frederick, Neal Davies and Natalie Clein.

Turbulent shifts of mood run through both Brahms’s Tragic Overture and the Prelude and Liebestod from Wagner’s opera Tristan and Isolde. Mozart’s Requiem – the composer’s final work, left unfinished at his early death – completes the programme.

Rachmaninov’s choral symphony The Bells is a spectacular musical statement for large-scale forces. Soloists Natalya Romaniw and Oleg Dolgov join Tadaaki Otaka and BBC NOW for a concert that also includes Borodin’s vivacious Polovtsian Dances.

The sea rolls through both Mendelssohn’s overture The Hebrides and Elgar’s sumptuous orchestral song-cycle Sea Pictures. Mussorgsky’s colourful Pictures at an Exhibition and a world premiere by Errollyn Wallen complete the programme.

Multi-talented guitarist and composer Jonny Greenwood curates a Late Night Prom featuring his new work for solo violin and strings, as well as a range of pieces broadly picking up on the themes of patterning and Minimalism.
