The ResidentsBack to the Chart
Chunky Mirza
Played by Shahid Ahmed

DOB: 4th July 1981
FAMILY : Mother Sakina and brother Jungli
LIVES: 22 Silver Street
WORK: Chunky runs the family takeaway business called Chunkys Chaat House.
CHARACTER: Chunky is quite sensible and not as ambitious as his brother Jungli. That's not to say he couldn't be more adventurous and 'out there'. It's just Chunky has always been left to deal with the business. Chunky is often seen walking around Silver Street in his Bermuda shorts. He is an ardent cricket fan but would rather settle down in front of the TV to watch the match whilst munching on some kebabs. He has attempted playing in the past but wasn't entirely suited to the sport on account of being a little on the 'heavy side'.
STAR SIGN : Cancer

Chunky

"It's nice to have mum back and boy did I miss her cooking. She does keep telling me off though. Why can't I be more like my brother? Why don't I have any ambition? Why don't I go on a diet? When have I had time to be ambitious though? Jungli was swanning around Dubai looking for the deal that was gonna make him a millionaire - ambition didn't stop that from falling flat on its face did it! Mum was away in Pakistan so I had to run the takeaway.

Don't get me wrong. I do want us to expand but at the same time you gotta be sensible right. Jungli's heading for trouble the way he's carrying on. Mum can't see it though. She thinks he can talk his way into anything. I'm not saying he can't but some things need more than the big talk. What about hard work?

I could do with some time off you know. I aint seen a good game of cricket in ages. Love that sport man! But the Chaat house aint gonna run by itself and I can't see Jungli mucking in to fry chips. Nah, that wouldn't suit 'Mr I could win The Apprentice' at all.

Right, I'd better get back to it. The fish needs battering and then I gotta clean the fryer later. Mum's on her way over and if she catches me skivving my ears are gonna suffer for it. Laters.
