The final Silver Street episode was broadcast on Fri 26 Mar 2010 and the final omnibus on Sun 28 Mar 2010
Jungli Mirza Played by Adil Ray
DOB: Give me yours first - and your phone number! FAMILY : Mother Sakina and brother Chunky LIVES: 22 Silver Street WORK: Jungli sees himself as an entrepreneur. He has apparantly just lost out on a big money maker in Dubai and has now opened up a mini-cab firm above Chunkys Chaat House (takeaway owned by his brother). CHARACTER: A bit of a ladies man but doesn't always have the guts to actually do anything - all talk and no trousers. He's a wise guy who talks rubbish when he's trying to give 'life advice' - but might actually share a true and poignant pearl of wisdom now and then - though of course he'd never know it himself at the time. Jungli adopts a telephone/business voice that he acquires when he sniffs some money in the air!
STAR SIGN : Taurus
Jungli
"I aint back in Silver Street for long. Nah, I got big plans - they're just on hold at the moment - I was got by the credit crunch innit. I was gonna do this big deal in Dubai and make loads of money but well, it didn't work out. So for now I am running Jungli cabs - it's OK though. Gets me out and about and keeps my nose the ground (I mean my ear) so I can hear about all those beautiful business opportunities out there.
Do you know my biggest talent? Steady on ladies - there's another one too. I can actually smell money in the air. Can you believe that! I got big plans for the Mirza family and mum aint gonna stand in my way. It's that plodding brother of mine Chunky who drags his feet everywhere. You can't afford to do that though. It's a cruel world out there and you gotta do what it takes to be Number One.
I've seen a lot of the world you know. Imran Jilani might have travelled around it but it aint the same. I have lived in places i couldn't even tell you about. It teaches you a lot of wisdom I think. If you want life advice come and see the great Jungli. If I don't know it, it's not worth knowing. Do you hear me!
Gotta dash. I start my taxi shift in a couple of hours. No rest for the wicked as they say.....
