Football Legends - Cliff Jones
Swansea-born winger Cliff Jones talks about belonging to a football dynasty, the remarkable crop of soccer talent that his Welsh home town produced in the 1950s and playing for the British Army during the war years. Alongside the legendary Danny Blanchflower and Dave Mackay, Jones was part of the Spurs team that took the League and FA Cup double in the 1960/61 season and went on to become the first English side to win a European trophy with the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1963.
In sharp contrast to today's high-earning players, Jones relates how he was taking home £85 a week at the height of his football career, with Tottenham manager Bill Nicholson paying the side bonuses of £4 for a win and £2 for a draw.
