Terms and Conditions
- This vote is open to everyone except BBC staff members or anyone directly connected in any way with BBC Gàidhlig’s Bliadhna nan Òran project and Òran an Là.
- A Panel will select a shortlist of 12 songs taken from those included in Òran an Là. Audience members can vote for their favourite by choosing one song from the shortlist.
Individuals can vote using one of the following methods only:
- Online at bbc.co.uk/alba or bbc.co.uk/oran; or
- By post – a voting form can be obtained by calling BBC Radio nan Gàidheal on 01851 705000 and returned to BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, Rosebank, Church Street, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2LS. This line will be staffed from approximately 9.30am until approximately 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Standard geographic charges apply to this number and calls may be included in your telecom provider’s call package. Calls from mobiles may be higher.
- The vote will open on Monday 15th November 2010 and close on Monday 13th December 2010.
- Any votes received outside the announced voting window will not count. Any postal entries received with a postmark dated 13th December 2010 or earlier will be accepted; any postal votes dated 14th December 2010 or later will not count.
- There will be no prize for anyone taking part in the vote.
- The BBC reserves the right to disqualify entries or suspend voting if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent voting has occurred or if it considers there has been any attempt to rig the voting. The BBC has the right to substitute an alternative selection method at its absolute discretion.
- If, for any reason, the online voting system fails, the vote may be suspended or a contingency plan may be actioned, including direction to the postal vote method. In the event of postal disruption (for example strikes) any contingency plan actioned will be posted online at bbc.co.uk/alba and bbc.co.uk/oran.
- The BBC reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend this vote at any time.
- The BBC, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any vote being lost or not properly registered or recorded.
