Comm Spec for suppliers
Comm Spec is the digitised system for developing and delivering commissioning specifications for BBC TV and Audio productions.
This means that rather than using Word documents to draft, review and store your programme’s commissioning specification, the whole process will be completed online.
A digital system to manage comm specs will be simpler, more efficient and save time. It means everyone can better track progress and comments as you work through it, ensure you have the most up to date version and effectively manage feedback you receive from the BBC.
When will Comm Spec go live?
Comm Spec will go live in mid-November 2025 for TV, with Audio following in early 2026.
Accessing Comm Spec
You will be able to access this system via a BBC Login EPA account. If you already have access to PiCoS, you will automatically get access. If there are other people in your company who need access, please submit a user request form. You can find instructions on how to set up an account here. Please note that the terms and conditions have been updated to reflect the launch of this new process.
Training and Support
Comm Spec is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. Helpcards and a training video will be available to support you shortly as you get started in Comm Spec.
