Passenger hurt in emergency landing
Glasgow Royal Infirmary
The pilot was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary
An injured passenger was flown to hospital after a light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in a field.

Two people were on board the aircraft, which got into difficulties on a journey to Oban on the west coast of Scotland.

Strathclyde Police said the incident took place shortly after 1815 BST on Saturday.

Our officers have interviewed the pilot and said that he had got into difficulties while trying to climb and was forced to make the landing

Strathclyde Police spokesman
The aircraft made the emergency landing close to a farm near Kilsyth about 20 minutes after setting off from Cumbernauld in North Lanarkshire.

The pilot was not injured but was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for a check-up.

However, the passenger had suffered a leg injury and was taken to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital by air ambulance.

A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: "Our officers have interviewed the pilot and said that he had got into difficulties while trying to climb and was forced to make the landing."

He said a number of police officers went to the scene, along with fire brigade and ambulance crews.
