The Waverley - which is based on the Clyde but offers passenger trips around the coast - is being renovated in Norfolk by George Prior Engineering. The boat arrived at the Great Yarmouth boatyard in November for the latest stage in a multi-million pound project to restore it to its original 1947 glory. The boat will stay at the yard until the summer for more restoration work, but will be returned to the water on Friday morning. The Waverley is owned by the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society, which is funding the work with help from the Heritage Lottery fund. | See also: 06 Nov 02 | England 18 Aug 00 | Scotland 15 Oct 99 | Wales 14 Jun 99 | UK Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
