Police seized 180 kilos of heroin
Four people have been arrested after customs officers seized heroin with an estimated street value of 10m.

Three people were held at various addresses in Birmingham and one was arrested at Clackets Lane service station on the M25 in Kent on Wednesday morning.

The seizure of 180 kilos of the drug was part of Operation Bright, an investigation into heroin trafficking in the Midlands.

Customs and Excise regional head of investigations Euan Stewart said the operation was carried out by Birmingham-based officers together with West Midlands Police.

He said: "Tackling the supply of class A drugs is a top priority for Customs and Excise.

"The operation has prevented a massive quantity of heroin reaching the streets of the UK."
