Biker killed in head-on crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash
A biker has died after colliding head-on with a car on a country road in Wiltshire.

The man, who has not been identified by police, sustained fatal injuries in the crash at 1317 GMT on Thursday.

The accident happened on an unclassified road between Trowbridge and the West Ashton crossroads, near the junction with the A350.

A police spokeswoman said: "The man was riding a motorcycle towards the junction when he collided head-on with a Rover car travelling in the opposite direction.

"He was thrown from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries."

The woman driver of the Rover suffered slight injuries in the crash and was treated at Trowbridge Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact them on (01249) 716564.
