Swimmer sets her sight on medal
Fran Williamson
Fran Williamson is flying out to Argentina
A young athlete from Cambridgeshire is expected to be among the medal winners at the forthcoming World Swimming Championships in Argentina.

Fran Williamson, 17, who has cerebral palsy, is going to Argentina to take part in the International Paralympic Committee championships.

Ms Williamson, from Cambridge, who swims for Colchester Phoenix swimming club, is flying out on Wednesday.

She is seen as one of Britain's big hopes in future games for people with disabilities.

She has already set her sights on the Paralympics in Athens in 2004.

Ms Williamson spends two hours of every day in the swimming pool perfecting techniques which have already made her National Champion at the 50 metre backstroke.

She joked: "In my secondary school it started as a hobby and became a job."
