| Friday, 27 October, 2000, 08:16 GMT 09:16 UK Grey-Thompson wins fourth Paralympics gold Sport: At the Paralympic Games in Sydney, the British wheelchair athlete, Tanni Grey-Thompson, has secured her fourth gold medal by winning the four-hundred metres race. She won in fifty-eight-point-seven-four seconds, ahead of Madeleine Nordlund of Sweden. Grey-Thompson had already won the hundred, two-hundred and eight-hundred-metre races. She's now equalled her success at the 1992 Paralympics in Barcelona, where she also won four gold medals. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
