| Thursday, 17 October, 2002, 14:39 GMT 15:39 UK Ulrika back to front claim ![]() Before and after, Ulrika's quick top turnaround You can't keep Ulrika Johnson out of the spotlight. With an autobiography out and headlines about her private life hitting the front and back pages, Ms Jonsson has never been so in demand. But this time the 35-year-old faces claims that she made a fashion faux-pas in front of millions of TV viewers. According to reports in the Express newspaper, Ms Jonsson took to the stage at the National Television awards on the 15 October with her 200 Alice Temperley designer top on back to front. Badly advised The television presenter was at the ceremony to present Graham Norton with the most popular talk show award. When she arrived at the Royal Albert Hall to give the award she posed for photographers on the red carpet. Once inside the hall she was collared by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine, who present the BBC show What Not To Wear, and told that she had her designer top on back to front. Red-faced Ms Jonsson whipped the top around for her later appearance on stage in front of estimated 10.8m viewers. However, a source at Alice Temperley told the Express: "She had it right to start with." What is your worst fashion mistake? Your Comments Just shows you how stupid some of the "high fashion" designs are it also says something about famous "personalities" too. My Passport has a picture of a suited teenager, wearing a deep blue and white striped shirt with a dotted tie. It's an embarrassment every time it gets an airing. Thank goodness it expires in 2003. The whole of the eighties!! Not sure if I'd class myself as fashionable anyway, but about 10 years ago I noticed a red blur near the ground when I was walking through the high street. I looked down to find to my horror - two bowling alley shoes. It was quite a long walk back as well. A vast oversized cream t-shirt with a hand-painted blue and purple human face, over blue and black tie-died leggings (never a good idea), and worn with black Dr Martens and a green woolly cardigan over the top. God, what was I thinking? And on a night out, a short top and long skirt in a blue shiny crinkly Star Trek-type material with white shoes. The hideousness of that particular number beggars belief. It would have to be my '96/'97 black fake pvc puffer jacket. It made me look like I was wearing a bin bag. The biggest fashion mistake I ever made was spending a significant amount of money on designer clothes and discovering at the end of the process that I still looked like a crashed hang glider. This country is obsessed with fashion and designer clothes and people judge you by what you wear. Most people are not very pretty anyway and to me the clothes dont make much difference. | See also: 17 Oct 02 | Entertainment 13 Oct 02 | Entertainment 12 Oct 02 | Entertainment 24 Apr 02 | Entertainment 20 Apr 02 | Entertainment 31 Oct 02 | Entertainment Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top UK stories now: Links to more UK stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
