It travelled across the south of the continent and then the ocean to southern Australia. ![]() Thousands gathered to witness the eclipse, and excitement was high the night before ![]() People travelled long distances to be in the path of the eclipse ![]() Tourists joined the scientists and other sightseers ![]() Some tourists came better prepared ![]() In some places, all possible precautions were taken to warn those who might be caught up ![]() People waited patiently to see one of the world's greatest natural phenomena |
