| | Tuesday, 12 November, 2002, 22:39 GMT In pictures: Nuclear waste convoy A train transporting nuclear waste from France to Germany crossed the border without incident, in the wake of a violent protest. Protesters had clashed with police on Monday in the northern town of Gorleben, injuring two officers.  The train left a French treatment plant in La Hague on Monday carrying about 1,300 tonnes of nuclear waste  Anti-nuclear demonstrators blocked a road in Hitzacker, northern Germany  Special police forces were sent to protect the train  Police patrolled the tracks after environmentalists tried to stop the train  Protesters erected banners along the train's route  Officers were deployed alongside the rails in both France and Germany  The shipment crossed the border safely and is expected to reach Gorleben, in northern Germany, on Wednesday | |
