Footprints: Your views
Holly Valance
Valance has had two top 10 hits in the UK
Holly Valance became the latest soap star turned pop star when her debut single, a cover of Tarkan's Kiss Kiss, went to number one in the UK earlier this year.

Her debut album, Footprints, has now been released, and features three tracks produced by Nellee Hooper.

"It appears to have been assembled in a rush, and as a consequence there are just too many throwaway songs on Footprints, which have minimal musical impact," wrote BBC News Online's Michael Osborn.

But what did you think?

Is it an album full of fillers? Or will she be the next Kylie Minogue?

Have your say

She looks good and that is about it.
Oliver Maskell, UK

Clearly the music on this attempt to make an album is to cash in on her obvious charms. This pitiful barrage of confused sound is well below par.(Holly can come round to my house anytime for singing lessons though).
Wee Man, Scotland

I don't like her music much but that doesn't seem to be her main selling point. She dresses, dances and appears in her videos as only one thing. A sex object. Does the world need another Britney Spears for dirty old (and young) men to lust over?
Sam, London

I'll be suprised if the album gets good sales; after all with the album you can only hear her

Dan Newman, UK
Her version of Kiss Kiss wasn't half as good as the original and her latest single sounds almost identical. Like most of these soap stars turned singers she is trading on her looks and really has no talent at all. Hopefully she will fade into obscurity before long.
Karen, Scotland

Who cares about the music...she looks great..., plays to most male fantasies. I doubt she even cares about her music anywhere NEAR as much as her image. I know I don't.
Nicky Brown, N.Ireland

She has no talent and has exploited herself to the full. Does she really think she can sing??? What a joke, anybody can make an album regardless of their talent but to actually believe in your own PR is vanity in the excess!!!!
Paul Pentony, UK

I haven't heard the album yet, but I'm hoping it will be good. The 3 singles I've heard so far have been really good, and long may it continue.
Jordan Dias, London, UK

If she really was a serious musician, she wouldn't be focusing 98% of her energy on showing us how sexy she is. Although to be honest, as she is little more than a pop parcel, packaged by her management to cash in on her looks, it's not surprising that she's all pout and no substance.
LD, UK

Keep waggling the bottom dear, with a voice like that you'll need to

I'll be suprised if the album gets good sales; after all with the album you can only hear her.
Dan Newman, England

I recently saw her perform at the One Big Sunday event in Leicester - she was awful. I've heard better at a drunken karaoke session!!!
Alex, England

It would be interesting to hear a song where her voice had not been electrified and tampered with, to see if she can actually sing. she never sings live on TV appearances - most other pop acts do.
Vicki, Scotland

It's her body that's selling the records, her voice sounds fake and I would love to hear her sing live. She won't touch the likes of Kylie who is the number one Aussie acoustic entertainer.
Hamid, Bristol

People! Don't forget that celebrities work for us, the people. TV stars who go on to music "careers" are surely just covering their back for when the acting work dries up. The fact that people buy the garbage that they release only serves to prove the point that we will buy anything by anyone. Bottom line? A soap actress doesn't deserve success in the music business if they aint musical. 1. Her voice IS plain and unoriginal. 2. The album IS awful. Stop feeding these morons, buy a guitar and do it yourself.
Ray, Scotland

I have heard Holly and I think, for a beginner singer, she is doing great. Her second single shows that she can continue the sucess that she's had until now.
Cristi, Brazil

The first song was catchy, although I'd heard it in both Greece and Turkey two years before, the next release is far from genius. Keep waggling the bottom dear, with a voice like that you'll need to.
Helen Cooke, UK

Help me Help You really showcases her voice

Si, UK
I had the privilege of interviewing Holly a month ago, and she is quite a nice person, though extremely professional in her approach to her new career. Now, pop music is not about how good the music is. It's about how popular it is, no matter why. I think Footprints is interesting because the people behind it actually try some new musical things, instead of just slapping a new face onto an old bottle.
Casper Christensen, Denmark

It sounded quite good after a few pints. But having listened to it again, I think you'd better stick to acting love!
Mick, England

In terms of music, she is so talentless. Her album is packed with awful stuff. Do me a favour, Holly, go back to your acting. I think you did a lot better job there.
Ben, UK

Ears unimpressed. Eyes, however, are quite happy, thank you very much.
Robert del Valle, Detroit

The album is brilliant! My favourite this year! Songs such as Hush Now, Naughty Girl, Connect and Whoop are amazing and Help me Help You really showcases her voice, so give her a break... but sex does sell!
Si, UK

Well, by the sound of it most of the people contributing to this page haven't actually heard the album. I have. I bought it yesterday, listened to it once, it was rubbish, so I took it back and changed it for the Warchild album. Much better.
Gareth, UK
