Frasier: Your views
Frasier
Frasier has been a huge hit for NBC
Award-winning sitcom Frasier has now entered its tenth series in the US, with the opening episode focusing on Daphne and Niles's wedding.

The Cheers spin-off has won more Emmys than any other show since it began.

"As season openers go, this episode of Frasier was disappointing. The much-hyped wedding show, in which Niles and Daphne finally tie the knot, had an air of staleness," wrote the BBC's Peter Bowes.

But what did our readers in the US think?

Has it reached the end of the line? Or was it a promising start?

Have your say

Absolute drivel - boring and it astonishes me that they are all so highly paid for doing very little. I have actually stopped watching this now.
Guthrie Duncan, Macau

The episode seemed thrown together. It was very flat and just appeared tired.
Kathryn Harrison, USA

Frasier has been the best comedy show of the last decade, the writing and actors have been consistently excellent. However, the writing has been on the wall for some time that the show has been going downhill. Series eight was a little weak and the last seies was very patchy and poor in places. I hope series ten can come near to the standards set in previous years.
Campbell Mclean, Britain

I certainly don't expect that Frasier has reached the end of its lifespan. In line with the quacky but excellent humour that permeates the programme, they have managed to produce the totally unexpected for all those expecting a wedding to rival that of Diana ha ha! Gotcha!!! And as usual I had a good laugh all through. This baby is still kicking strong.
Olayemi, USA

I thought the wedding episode was a typically unexpected wacky twist for the show! I'm only a recent fan, thanks to my guy, but I've finally seen the humour in the pompousness of the characters. Let the show go out in a blaze of glory, nothing good lasts forever, much less gets to run its full course, ABC's Once and Once Again being a case in point.
Leah Solomon, USA

Frasier is a tired, boring show. How much do you want to bet that a baby will be introduced as the season cliff-hanger....(yawn). Can the show be more predictable? Sitcom writers should take a look at how shows like the Simpsons can make it to 10 years and still remain fresh.
Gabby, US

Frasier has indeed reached the end of the line. Each move and reaction of the characters has become so predictible.
Aida, US

10 years of Frasier is seven years too much. When will American TV execs realise when to call it quits for a show? Let the shows end when they still have an ounce of life left...let's use Seinfeld as an example, not Friends or Frasier. End it already!
Dan, USA

The only character who seems as fresh and as entertaining as he was in the beginning is Eddie.
Robert del Valle, USA

You absolutely know a series is on its last legs when they start marrying the principle characters off to one another. Look at Friends. Not only has Rachel married and divorced Ross once, now she's had his child and tonight (the start of a new season) we'll see Joey and Ross both vying to become her next husband. Not only have these shows reached rock bottom, now they are digging. I'm about ready to puke! What happened to that wonderful idea of quitting while you were on top?
Amanda Bradley, Seattle USA

It has just run its course as all shows do. Time to exit stage left.
Nancy, USA

The new episode was rather dry and boring, much to my disappointment. I've been following Fraiser, his antics and those of his family for years. I miss the old, elitest, prim and proper Niles and Fraiser Crane. However I do hope the show picks up through the remainder of the season.
Sarah, Canada

Boring! Ever since Niles and Daphne became an item the show has become more and more inane. I agree that Eddie is the only character worth watching nowadays! The end of the show is long overdue.
Maureen, Canada
