Actor Nicolas Cage has tied the knot with girlfriend Lisa Marie Presley, in a secret wedding ceremony in Hawaii.

Publicists for both Cage and Presley confirmed that the ceremony took place on Saturday at 6.30pm local time, at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows on Hawaii's Big Island.

"The wedding was in front of immediate family and friends," said Presley's publicist Paul Block.

They included Presley's mother, Priscilla Presley, Cage's son Weston, and Presley's two children, Danielle and Benjamin, from her first marriage to Danny Keogh.

The couple returned to Los Angeles on Sunday, with Cage due back at work on Monday for his latest film Matchstick Men, directed by Ridley Scott.

Mr Block said he knew of no plans for the pair to take a honeymoon.

Split

It is the third marriage for Ms Presley, 34, who was also previously married to Michael Jackson.

Cage, 38, has also been married, to actress Patricia Arquette, whom he divorced in 2001. His son Weston is by model Kristina Fulton.

He and Ms Presley split up in February of this year after dating for 10 months, but were recently reconciled.

He is best known for his roles in the films Raising Arizona, Face/Off, Captain Corelli's Mandolin and Leaving Las Vegas, for which he won a best actor Oscar in 1998.

Cage's latest film, the World War II drama Windtalkers, will be released in the UK on 30 August.

Ms Presley, the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, is a singer and model who has appeared in campaigns for Gap and Versace, among others,

She is also the head of Elvis Presley Enterprises, which works to preserve the image of the legendary rock and roller.

Fans are gathering in Memphis, Tennessee, to mark the 25th anniversary of his death this week.

Both Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley are thought to be attending a concert in his memory in Memphis on Friday.
