On An Average Day: Press views
Woody Harrelson and Kyle McLachlan
More Hollywood actors take to the British stage
The UK press review On An Average Day, starring Woody Harrelson and Kyle MacLachlan at London's Comedy Theatre.

The Independent

This is, again like so many of these American plays, an actors' play. And these two certainly act their socks off. Harrelson's performance as Bob is magnificent, rambling and ranting, talking nonsense and making it sound credible, jiggling and trouser pulling, avoiding clich but implicitly conceding that weirdos can be a little predictable.

The Mirror

Cheers it ain't. But - with all due respect to Mr Harrelson's excellent sitcom and film work in the likes of Indecent Proposal, Natural Born Killers and The People vs Larry Flynt - he has never been as good as this. As for MacLachlan. He is simply superb. I raise my glass to both of them. Cheers!

The Daily Telegraph

It is a pleasure to report that the show fully justifies Friedman's faith in it, and Harrelson and MacLachlan both prove to be terrific stage actors, turning in fresh, funny, deeply felt perfomances that are a joy to watch.

The Times

Harrelson does not merely admit he's "up and down": he hops, skips and jumps about the stage, embodying confusion, and then slumps to the floor and cowers on it, incarnating infantilism. MacLachlan mostly plays the straight man, but takes his emotional moments well enough. Yet neither of them strummed my heartstrings very much.
