Tomb Raider star Lara Croft has become the first video game character to sign on with a Hollywood agent.

Los Angeles-based Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has added the cyber-heroine to its list of celebrity clients.

Eidos Interactive and Core Design, who published and developed the game series, announced on Monday that CAA will represent the gun-toting character.

The goal is to broaden Lara's appeal through sport, publishing, consumer product tie-ins, and perhaps even her own television series.

'Dynamic personality'

"Lara Croft represents a dynamic personality for CAA and a groundbreaking type of client for our business," the company's Elie Dekel said.

"The fact is, Lara Croft is a star, Lara Croft is a one billion dollar brand and is recognised by 95% of males between the ages of 12-25. She's a pop culture icon of the highest calibre."

Angelina Jolie brought Lara Croft to the big screen

The buxom heroine, made famous by actress Angelina Jolie in blockbuster action movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, is the first video game character to be represented by a major talent agency.

CAA's first assignment will be to promote Lara Croft's upcoming role in the latest instalment of the Tomb Raider game franchise - The Angel of Darkness - which comes out in the autumn.

A second Tomb Raider movie with Jolie reclaiming her role as Lara Croft is expected to be released next year.
