 The night's emotions - Democrat disappointment and Republican joy - were in the faces of Maryland's gubernatorial candidates  The Republican Party now has control of the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives  Jean Carnahan's admission of defeat in Missouri gave the Republicans control of the Senate  It was a good night for the Bush family, with Jeb staying as Florida governor  Voting took place in each and every of the 50 states  Areas with close races reported a high turnout but the result was never in doubt for many seats | |
