The judge said the case was a lesson to others wanting to experiment |
A court has heard how a 13-year-old girl almost died after taking ecstasy at a flat in Wrexham. Gareth Jones, 20, and Kurt Marley, 21, admitted supplying the drug to five young people at Marley's flat on the Caia Park estate.
Jones was sentenced to 15 months youth detention and Marley was jailed for 15 months at Mold Crown Court.
The judge told them they were guilty of "wicked, wicked acts" and said that the girl had been at their mercy.
The teenager was among five young people given ecstasy at the flat but she reacted badly and ran outside screaming.

At one stage, the court heard, it was suggested that she should be taken somewhere on the estate and left, but fortunately the alarm was raised, and she was rushed to hospital.
Her condition deteriorated and she had to be cared for in the intensive care unit.
Prosecuting barrister Mr Meirion Lewis-Jones said: "She almost lost her life."
Mr Recorder Parry said that the case should be a lesson to others who might be tempted to experiment with just one ecstasy tablet.
'Worst nightmare'
"Let this case be a less to anybody who thinks that they will experiment by taking one ecstasy tablet. She nearly died and so could they," he warned.
"I take the view that this case is a dreadfully serious matter. We are talking about the supply of a drug to a girl who was five days beyond her 13th birthday. That supply was a wicked, wicked act.
"She was screaming in the street at things that were not there, she was twitching and jerking, she had a convulsion and she nearly died."
The judge ordered that the girl's identity should be protected |
He added that the "overwhelming aggravating feature" of the case was that she was only 13.
Charlotte Kenny, defending Jones, said that her client was deeply shocked by what had happened and appreciated what could have happened, and the distress caused to the girl and her family.
Andrew Jebb, for Marley, said that his client did not know how young the girl was and claimed that, while it may have been bravado, she had indicated that she had taken drugs before.
Marley was also ordered to serve an additional 213 days because he was on licence after a prison sentence for robbery.
