A grandmother has been jailed for five months for making hoax 999 calls. Dolgellau magistrates heard that Gwen Mitchelmore, 51, from Barmouth had a long list of similar convictions.
She made 134 calls between July and October 2005, and ambulancemen and firemen refused to call at her home unless accompanied by police.
Court chairman R Gwynfor Jones said a custodial sentence was warranted because Mitchelmore was putting genuine emergency calls in jeopardy.
She was caught earlier this month after the police dialled the number that the calls had originated from - and a mobile phone rang in her pocket.
Mitchelmore pleaded guilty to two specimen charges of making hoax calls to the emergency services, threatening a police officer and criminal damage at Dolgellau police station.
The magistrates confiscated her two pay as you go mobile phones, but an application for an Anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) was refused.
