Bombay Dreams rehersals
Entertainers will perform at the event to promote talent
The first Bollywood event to focus on promoting asian talent in Wales took place on Sunday.

The occasion showcased a range of entertainers, artists, DJs and businesses which are local to Cardiff and the surrounding areas.

Nothing like this has ever happened in Cardiff in the 15 years I have been living here

Siaqa Sadiq, organiser

Top performers based in other parts of the UK performed at the event called Chandini Raat, which means Starlit Night.

One of the organisers Siaqa Sadiq, is a hair and makeup artist based in Cardiff.

"Nothing like this has ever happened in Cardiff in the 15 years I have been living here," she said.

"Lots of people have said to me that there should be something like this and I thought it was time to put Cardiff on the map.

Ms Sadiq said the event, which included a fashion show and a three course dinner, would promote businesses such as those offering fashion design and hair and beauty.

Everyone has been so positive about it all and we have had such a good response

Siaqa Sadiq, organiser

Performers including Bobby Singh, the Bollywood All Stars and Haroon an international star from Pakistan were all due to take part.

Ms Sadiq was optimistic that the event would be a success.

"Everyone has been so positive about it all and we have had such a good response," she said.

"We only came up with the idea about four weeks ago and we have had a really busy time over the last month.

"It is not for profit and the idea was to get everybody together to have a good time," she added.
