Major plans to replace Clackmannanshire's secondary schools have been given the green light. A deal worth more than �60m will deliver three new schools in a public private partnership agreement.
Clackmannanshire Council's regulatory committee backed the proposals to deliver the region's first new schools for more than 20 years, on Thursday.
Building is planned to start in the summer, with the schools scheduled to open in August 2008.
The project to build the schools - Lornshill Academy, Alloa Academy and Alva Academy - is being taken forward by the Clackmannanshire Education Partnership.
The consortium includes Bilfinger Berger BOT, Ogilvie Construction and Amey Business Services.
Regulatory committee convener Eddie Carrick said: "This is a significant move forward in the development of three new secondary schools fit for the 21st Century.
"These will be schools we can be proud of and will help our young people have a bright future."
