School budget cut meeting agreed

A meeting has been arranged between parents and education officials over cuts to school budgets in the Borders.

Devolved management funds - controlled by head teachers - are facing efficiency savings of 2%.

It has prompted concerns among parents in Galashiels they may have to provide basic school materials.

A meeting will take place at Langlee Primary on 17 April with councillors Catriona Bhatia and Neil Calvert and education director Glenn Rodger.
