Schools budget monitoring pledge
Scottish Borders Council has promised to closely monitor the impact of a 2% cut in its schools' devolved spending.

The move was part of a range of measures agreed as the authority froze council tax levels last week.

A further 2% reduction has also been proposed for next year prompting concern from head teachers and parents' groups in the region.

However, Cllr Catriona Bhatia said she believed schools could cope with the reduction to their funding.
