Two men who assaulted Aberdeen football captain Mark Kerr have been fined a total of £2,700.

Robert Hay, 24, and John Robb, 27, admitted the attack after knocking the player unconscious during an incident at the city's Priory nightclub.

The Dons skipper underwent surgery and had to have a metal plate inserted in his face.

Kerr had earlier admitted committing a breach of the peace during the same incident and was fined £250 last week.

Aberdeen men Hay and Robb admitted assault at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Aberdeen Football Club declined to comment.

Kerr arrived on a free transfer from Dundee United and was later appointed the team's captain.
