Thefts mean 'giving box' removal
Thieves have forced Aberdeen City Council to remove public "giving boxes" from the streets.

Donations were supposed to go to the homeless - but instead were being collected by criminals who had changed the padlocks on the boxes.

The collection boxes were introduced earlier this year, in a bid to reduce street begging.

Three boxes placed in the streets have been removed. Two other boxes in Aberdeen shopping centres will remain.
