Donald Trump's plans for a 1bn golf development in Aberdeenshire are the focus of a site visit and public meeting on Thursday. The US billionaire wants to build "the world's greatest golf course" at the Menie estate, north of Aberdeen.
Councillors will visit the planned site at the evening meeting, along with dozens of supporters and objectors.
Council officers have recommended backing the plans, which include a 450-bedroom hotel.
The Trump Organisation's head of international development, George Sorial, told BBC Scotland that something "world class" was needed as Scotland did not need another good or average golf course.
He said: "We have received thousands of inquiries from all over the word, there's no doubt in my mind that the demand is there.
"It's now up to the council to make a decision."
The sand dunes are an environmentally-sensitive area.
The plans also include almost 1,000 holiday homes and about 500 private houses.
Thursday night's public meeting at Balmedie Primary is the latest stage in the planning process.
The meeting comes after Aberdeenshire councillors deferred their decision on the matter.
