Under-24s to film alcohol message
Clapper board
The film project aims to raise awareness of alcohol issues
Young people in the north east are being asked to submit story ideas for a film competition that aims to raise awareness about alcohol.

Aberdeen Joint Alcohol and Drug Action Team said the best 15 entries would be made into a film by 16 to 24-year-olds.

The winning films will be entered into international festivals.

NHS Grampian's Jodie Dawson said it provided a great entry into the film industry and was a novel way of promoting an alcohol awareness message.

She said the health board had already received 20 applications and they still wanted to hear from young people who wanted to be involved in the production of the films, from directors to make-up artists.

"We think that communicating with young people who feel that alcohol is a big part of their social life is vital," she said.

"Having them tell us and hep us create the alcohol message makes sense."
