Hunt on for 150,000 Bond winners
Money
Thousands of pounds can be claimed by winners
An appeal has been made to track down hundreds of Premium Bond winners in Grampian who are missing out on prizes totalling 157,000.

There are 2,812 unclaimed prizes ranging from 25 up to 1,000.

Prizes go unclaimed because people fail to pass on new addresses, forget they were bought for them, or people die but executors do not know of the bonds.

There are also dozens of winners from Orkney and Shetland. Numbers can be checked online.

Sally Swait, Premium Bond manager at National Savings and Investments (NS&I), said: "With the stress of moving home, it is all too easy to forget to tell everyone your new address including financial providers.

"For Premium Bond holders in the Grampian region, they could be literally walking away from their prizes if they have not kept NS&I updated.

"We are standing by to re-unite people with any unclaimed prizes and we urge anyone who believes they could have such a prize to check.

"The easiest way is to use our website and there is no time limit on claiming the prizes."
