Award scheme to tackle rowdy pubs
Bouncer
The awards recognise good pub management such as door policies
A scheme to recognise good practice in pub management has been launched by Fife Police to help reduce alcohol-related crime and disorder.

Dunfermline, Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy are the first Scottish towns to take part in the Best Bar None awards - a scheme that started in Manchester.

Pubs, bars and clubs will be judged on their safety and emergency procedures.

Chief Superintendent Andrew Laing said the scheme would help make town centres safer for people out socialising.

Licensees have one month from the 24 July to complete and return applications and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in October.

Mr Laing said more than 30 premises had already shown interest in taking part.
