Liberal Democrat negotiator David Laws has said that his party is "seeking clarification" over proposals to form an alliance with the Tories after the UK general election resulted in a hung parliament.

Mr Laws told reporters that party members wanted to hear more on the issues of education spending, a fairer taxation system and voting reform.
