Army chief blames Iraq 'amateurs'

A senior army officer has told the Iraq inquiry that lives were lost during the conflict because of decisions made by 'amateurs' appointed to important positions in the British government.

Lieutenant-General Sir Freddie Viggers was among several witnesses giving evidence who were in Iraq in the immediate aftermath of the invasion.
