Army chief lambasts 'amateurs' in post-invasion Iraq

A senior army officer has told the Iraq Inquiry that ministers and civil servants need to be better trained to deal with military campaigns.

Lieutenant General Sir Frederick Viggers, who was Britain's senior military representative in Iraq following the war, said those in government departments with involvement in military action had to be better prepared for the role they would play.
