Brown advises MPs 'to pay up'

Gordon Brown says he is determined to "clean-up politics" and has urged MPs to repay excessive expenses.

The prime minister said he recognised MPs have got questions about the expenses review but that MPs from all parties have to comply.

About 600 MPs are getting letters containing the interim results of a review, by former civil servant Sir Thomas Legg, of their second homes expenses claims since 2004.
