Conservative leader David Cameron has said the Shadow Leader of the Commons, Alan Duncan, made "a bad mistake" in making comments about MPs' pay and conditions.
Mr Duncan used strong language to complain that MPs had been treated badly in the expenses scandal and were now expected to "live on rations".
But Mr Cameron said Mr Duncan would not lose his job over the comments.
