Little respite for embattled PM

Gordon Brown has unveiled his new cabinet and vowed to "fight on", but remains under pressure ahead of Sunday's European election results.

As the scale of Labour's defeat in English local elections became clear on Friday some within his own party urged him to stand down, while the opposition continued their calls for an immediate general election.
